‘AGT’ winners list: Kodi Lee joins these America’s Got Talent’ champions: Shin Lim, Darci Lynne Farmer …

“America’s Got Talent” crowned its 14th winner on Wednesday’s final results show with singer Kodi Lee squeaking out a victory over the chorale group Detroit Youth Choir. On the “AGT” winners list for all 14 seasons, Kodi is singer number seven. Click through the photo gallery above to see what life has been like for the first 13 winners of “America’s Got Talent” since they won the $1,000,000 grand prize and find out where they are now.

Kodi had been singled out for the Golden Buzzer by new judge Gabrielle Union. We had not expected Detroit Youth Choir, who got the Golden Buzzer from the show’s host Terry Crews, to do so well given that no group variety act has won “AGT.”

Rather, we thought the race would be between Kodi and child singing sensation Emanne Beasha, who was guest judge Jay Leno‘s Golden Buzzer act. At just 10 years of age, Emanne would have been the third youngster in four years to win a chance to headline at a Las Vegas casino. The winner  in 2017 was 12-year-old singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer. And songwriter/ukeleleist Grace VanderWaal was also 12 when she won “AGT” in 2016.

Farmer was the third ventriloquist to claim victory, following in the path of Season 2’s Terry Fator, who appeared on the Season 12 finale alongside Farmer, and Season 10’s Paul Zerdin. She was also the third child act to prevail, after VanderWaal and the first-ever “AGT” winner, singer Bianca Ryan (11 years old).

Kodi is the fifth male singer to win “AGT,” joining the late Neal E. Boyd (Season 3), Kevin Skinner (Season 4), Michael Grimm (Season 5) and Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. (Season 6).

Unlike previous years, there was no animal act in this year’s final. The only four-legged contestants to ever win were the Olate Dogs in Season 7.
