Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Alex Borstein is entering the episode “Vote for Kennedy, Vote for Kennedy” as her 2019 Emmy Awards submission for Best Comedy Supporting Actress. This program streamed December 5 and was the ninth episode of the second season for the Amazon Prime show.
In this installment, Susie (Borstein) and Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) discover that Sophie Lennon (Jane Lynch) is performing on the same telethon as Midge. They are worried that Sophie might still be retaliating, so Susie angrily confronts her.
Borstein is the reigning champ in this category and also won last year for Voice-Over Performer on “Family Guy.” For the 2019 contest, she is competing against past winner Kate McKinnon (“Saturday Night Live”), returning nominees Anna Chlumsky (“Veep”), Olivia Colman (“Fleabag”) and Betty Gilpin (“GLOW”), plus rookie contenders Sian Clifford (“Fleabag”), Sarah Goldberg (“Barry”) and Marin Hinkle (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”).
