Emmy voters: You’re invited to sit in Archie and Edith’s chairs

This week Emmy voters can go to the Westfield Century City mall for an up-close chance to see the sets and costumes featured in “Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear’s ‘All in the Family’ and ‘The Jeffersons,’” which competes for Best Variety Special (Live) and many other Emmy categories.

Fans are invited to sit in Archie and Edith’s iconic “All in the Family” chairs and to get cozy in “The Jeffersons” familiar living room. Taking selfies is welcome. The first 100 guests will be given a T-shirt emblazoned with the new live show’s logo.

The activation will be open through this Sunday, June 16, during mall hours: Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

“Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear’s ‘All in the Family’ and ‘The Jeffersons’” reached nearly 22 million total viewers, making it the live television event of the season. The 90-minute special took viewers down memory lane, recreating an original episode from each of the Emmy-winning series “All in the Family” and “The Jeffersons.”

Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and television icon Norman Lear, directed by 10-time Emmy winner James Burrows and produced by Sony Pictures Television, the legendary night of television aired on May 22 on ABC and now is available for viewing on ABC.com, ABC’s FYC site and Hulu.
