‘American Idol’ predictions: Alejandro Aranda will win season 17 say 39% of viewers

Alejandro Aranda will win season 17 of “American Idol.” A whopping 39% of the fans taking part in our poll back his bid to take the title. This 24-year-old dishwasher from Pomona, California has been the frontrunner since his audition video went viral. His closest competition remains Laine Hardy, who racked up 22% support in our survey. Scroll down to review the songs that they and the rest of Top 8 have performed to date and then vote for your favorite.

The Top 8 will sing for America’s votes on Sunday, April 28 and two more artists will be eliminated. Alejandro and Laine look safe as do Wade Cota and Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, who are at 10%. Also expected to make it through are Madison Vandenburg (9%) and Laci Kaye Booth (6%). The two contestants likeliest to be sent packing are Walker Burroughs (3%) and Alyssa Raghunandan (2%).
