The revival of “American Idol” on ABC has finally reached the Top 14 stage of the competition, with viewers getting to vote for their favorites based on the performance of these finalists on the Sunday April 14 episode. This show was taped on Friday and we have dug some digging and discovered the songs sung by these would-be winners of season 17. Scroll down to see the names of these tunes and the artists that made them famous. Spoilers ahead.
All 14 of these contestants survived a prolonged process that began with winning over the three judges — Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie — at a regional audition. A whopping 15o plus hopefuls made the trip to Hollywood where they were cut down to just 40. Those Top 40 competed both individually and in groups before the judges decided on the Top 20. That score of artists then had to sing both solo and in duets with celebrities and convince the three judges that they deserved a place in the Top 14.
