On the Monday April 15 episode of the ABC revival of “American Idol,” we will learn which artists make the Top 10. Each of the Top 14 finalists sang one song on Sunday’s show. Seven of them will learn from host Ryan Seacrest that they number among America’s favorites and have earned places in the Top 10. (The other three will be chosen by the three judges — Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie — after all seven of the remaining contestants sing again).
We asked viewers which of the Top 14 performers was their pick for a place and only four of them registered double digit support in our poll. Madison VanDenburg has a whopping 30% of the vote for her rendition of the Alicia Keys hit “Fallin.” She is followed at 25% by Alejandro Aranda for his version of “One Dance” by Drake. Laine Hardy comes in at 15% for his cover of “That’s Alright Mama” by Elvis Presley while Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon is at 10% support for “We All Fall in Love Sometimes” by Elton John.
Which other three singers will join these four in getting guaranteed spots in the Top 10? Laci Booth looks relatively safe with 7% of the vote for her cover of “I Miss You” by Blink 182. Likewise for Walker Burroughs who earned 5% for his soaring rendition of “Climb Every Mountain” from “The Sound of Music.” And Ashley Hess has 3% support for her version of “Fix You” by Coldplay.
None of the other seven contestants has generated more than 2% in our survey of viewers. Do you agree with these results? If you haven’t cast your ballot yet, be sure to do so at the bottom of this post. To help you make up your mind, we’ve listed all the contestants and the songs that they sang on Sunday’s show.
