‘American Idol’ Top 3 power rankings from best to worst: Alejandro Aranda, Laine Hardy, Madison VanDenburg

In advance of the Top 3 taking to the stage on Sunday’s live “American Idol finale,” we asked viewers who they were backing to win season 17. Alejandro Aranda has taken almost half of the votes in our poll as of this writing and has an impressive 48% of fans supporting him. Laine Hardy is close behind with 41% of the vote. These two men lead our power rankings from best to worst. The third finalist, Madison Vandenburg, is way back with just 11% of the total tally.

Voting for the winner of season 17 of “American Idol” will begin as soon as the show starts at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT on May 19. It will be paused midway through the 3-hour extravaganza that is being broadcast live nationwide. At that point, Ryan Seacrest will reveal which of the two finalists will continue on and who will see their journey end.
