American Music Awards winners list 2019: Who won at the AMAs in all 29 categories?

The 2019 American Music Awards were presented on Sunday night, November 24, during a ceremony at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles hosted by AMA-nominated R&B artist Ciara and broadcast live on ABC. So who won at this 47th annual event? Scroll down to see the complete winners in all 29 categories ranging from Artist of the Year to Favorite Soundtrack Album.

Post Malone entered this event with a leading seven nominations including Artist of the Year, followed by Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish with six apiece and Taylor Swift with five. Joining Malone, Grande and Swift in the Artist of the Year race were Drake and Halsey. Winners were decided by music fans voting online, so the key to victory was to have the biggest and most passionate fan base, just like at other audience-decided events like the MTV Video Music Awards.

Swift came into these awards already a guaranteed winner, though. She was given the honorary Artist of the Decade prize, and it’s easy to see why given her track record at these kudos. She had already won Artist of the Year four times before (2009, 2011, 2013, 2018), more than any other artist in the history of the awards. She had also accumulated a total of 23 AMAs, more than any other female artist in history, so all she needed to do tonight was win two of her five competitive noms to set a new record as the single most awarded artist off all time, surpassing 24-time champ Michael Jackson.

Swift also performed during the telecast to celebrate her Artist of the Decade achievement. Other performers who took the stage included aforementioned nominees Eilish, Halsey and Malone, as well as Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, Shania Twain, Jonas Brothers, Dua Lipa and more.
