Shame on ‘America’s Got Talent’ judges for not giving Golden Buzzer to 10-year-old opera singer Emanne Beasha — Can she still win?

America’s Got Talent” fans are in an uproar over the fact that the reality TV show’s judges didn’t give a Golden Buzzer to 10-year-old opera singer Emanne Beasha. The talented Florida girl auditioned with “Nessun Dorma” during the Tuesday, June 25 episode of “AGT,” with Julianne Hough, Simon Cowell, Gabrielle Union and Howie Mandel all giving her a rousing standing ovation and sending her through to the next round. (In the show’s defense, at airtime Julianne was actually the only person still left with a Golden Buzzer, which she will finally press on the July 9 episode.) Does this mean Emanne now has an uphill climb to win? Surprisingly, no.

Just last season close-up magician Shin Lim ended up winning the $1 million prize after failing to earn a Golden Buzzer during the auditions or the Judge Cuts round. He then went on to win spinoff series “AGT: The Champions” after once again not being helped along with a Golden Buzzer boost. So Emanne shouldn’t worry just yet about missing out to Golden Buzzer competitors Tyler Butler-Figueroa, Kodi Lee, Joseph Allen and Detroit Youth Choir.

Perhaps Emanne will have better luck receiving a golden confetti shower in the Judge Cuts round? Each of the upcoming guest judges will get to press their Golden Buzzer for one act, so Emanne could still earn that honor before the live shows begin. The last “AGT” winner to earn a Golden Buzzer in the Judge Cuts round after missing out in the auditions was Season 10’s Paul Zerdin, when guest judge Marlon Wayans pressed his button for the hilarious adult ventriloquist.

In her interview with NBC, Emanne revealed that she was terribly frightened to perform in front of Simon during her initial audition. “Simon’s a serious judge, so I was a little bit scared to perform in front of him,” she explained. “I was so relieved when Simon said that he liked it.” Emanne’s rendition of the classic opera song prompted Simon to call her “unbelievable” and “an amazing person,” so she clearly picked the right song.

Also in Emanne’s favor is the fact that she already has a built-in fan base from her 2018 appearance on “Little Big Shots” with Steve Harvey and winning the 2017 season of “Arabs Got Talent.” The 10-year-old girl was born in Amman, Jordan. “America’s Got Talent” returns on Tuesday, July 9 with the final audition episode of Season 14.
