‘America’s Got Talent’ live results 1 recap: Which 7 acts advanced to semifinals and who won the Dunkin’ Save? [UPDATING LIVE BLOG]

The first group of 12 acts in the quarterfinals performed live on Tuesday’s two-hour episode of “America’s Got Talent.” Only seven of these dozen acts will advance to the semifinals. So which acts earned enough votes to perform again in the next round? Overnight viewers voted for their favorites and the results were revealed during a one-hour episode of “AGT” on Wednesday.

To kick off the results, host Terry Crews will reveal the five acts that brought in the most votes and automatically advance to the semis. That will leave an unlucky seven in jeopardy. At this point, Terry will us who were the sixth, seventh and eighth place vote-getters. These three acts will be eligible for the Dunkin’ Save, a live vote to take place during the rest of the show, with the most popular earning the sixth slot.

The two acts that don’t win the Dunkin’ Save will then have to hope that they win over enough of the four judges to be their choice as the seventh act to make it through to the semifinals in three weeks time.

8:08 p.m. – Following a brief recap of last night’s performance show, Terry brought the 12 acts on stage to reveal the first set of results from the audience vote. But first, in a surprise, Terry let us know that due to a glitch in last night’s voting, there will be so judges’ pick this week and instead the top 6 based on viewer’s votes will advance and the Dunkin’ Save will include the 7th, 8th and 9th place acts. Those three acts were: Ansley Burns, Emerald Belles and Sophie Pecora.

8:11 p.m. – Right before the first commercial break we got a sneak peak of how the Dunkin’ Save votes began and Sophie was out to an early lead with about 37% of the votes, followed by Ansey with around 34% and Emerald Belles hovering around 30%.

8:16 p.m. – In an AGT mash-up performance, season 1 winner Bianca Ryan, season 13’s violinist Brian King Joseph and season 11’s contortionist Sofie Dossi took the stage to help promote Bianca’s new single (out tomorrow).

8:25 p.m. – With 9 acts still waiting for news of their fate, Terry announced that between Alex Dowis and Carmen Carter that it’s Alex advancing! Which means Carmen is eliminated…. whhhhhhhhat?!

8:27 p.m. – And between Luke Islam and GFORCE, America voted Luke through, eliminating the young girl group in the process.

8:34 p.m. – With only 6 minutes left for voting in the Dunkin’ Save, last season’s champion (and AGT Champions champion) magician Shin Lim came to the stage to deliver some of his iconic magic featuring Jay Leno as an assistant!

8:45 p.m. – Next Terry informed both Kodi Lee and Voices of Services that they made it into the semifinals!

8:48 p.m. – Then between Bir Khalsa, Messoudi Brothers and Greg Morton it was determined that Messoudi Brothers and Greg advanced while Bir Khalsa was eliminated.

8:58 p.m. – And the final act to advance to the semifinals, determined by tonight’s Dunkin’ Save live vote was Ansley. She managed to overcome both the elimination in the Judges’ Cuts and the early deficit tonight. Congrats, Ansley!
