“America’s Got Talent: The Champions” will feature 50 acts — including five winners apiece from America and Britain as well as eight others from around the world — competing to be declared the best of the best. Each of the first five episodes will showcase 10 of these acts. We’ve done some digging and have the line-up for the premiere on January 7.
Among those taking to the stage on the first episode is the most famous alumni of the franchise, Susan Boyle, whose audition video went viral. It is a surprise to many to discover that she did not win “Britain’s Got Talent” back in 2009 but placed second to dance troupe Diversity. Since then, Susan has recorded eight albums, reaching #1 in more than 40 countries and earning upwards of 125 platinum and gold album certifications worldwide.
Among the other nine acts vying for bragging rights are three that won their respective country’s version of the show, including Bianca Ryan, who was just 11 when she was crowned winner of the first season of “AGT” back in 2006.
Also in the hunt is the 2014 “Russia’s Got Talent” winner, sword swallower Alex Magala, who has made a career out of appearing on various versions of the show, reaching the finals on “BGT,” the semi’s on the Italian edition and the quarter-finals on “AGT.” And the 2010 winners of “Australia’s Got Talent,” Justice Crew, bring their singing/dancing act to these shores.
The roster is rounded out by six “AGT” finalists hoping for redemption:
Uzeyer Novruzov – balancing act (2010)
The Clairvoyants – mentalists (2016)
Sofie Dossi – contortionist (2016)
Preacher Lawson – comedian (2017)
Sara & Hero – dog act (2017)
Vicki Barbolak – stand-up comic (2018)
