Episode 1 of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” included a return appearance by Bianca Hale, the singer who launched the franchise back in 2006 when she won season 1 of “AGT.” She did not make it through to the final. Hoping for better luck on episode 3, which airs on NBC on January 21, is opera singer Paul Potts, who claimed victory in the first season of “Britain’s Got Talent” back in 2007.
Of the other nine acts, only one took the title in their respective country: DJ Arch Jnr, the self-titled “Kid DJ,” won “South Africa’s Got Talent” in 2015. Another, magician Darcy Oake finished in fifth place on “BGT” in 2013.
Also in the hunt is child singer Angelica Hale, who lost season 12 of “America’s Got Talent” to teen ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer in 2017. Besides Hale, the other six “AGT” finalists set to perform on episode 3 of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” are:
Prince Poppycock, opera singer (AGT 2010);
Tom Cotter, stand-up comic (AGT 2012);
Ryan Stock & AmberLynn, danger act (AGT 2015);
Jon Dorenbos, magician (AGT 2016);
Billy and Emily England, danger roller skaters (AGT 2017); and
Samuel J. Comroe, stand-up comic (AGT 2018).
