Before the “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” final on February 11, judges Mel B, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel had a tough decision to make – which two acts that didn’t make the cut in the five episodes should get the wild card slots. They were spoilt for choice with 11 acts making it to the top 3 over the course of the audition shows. We’ve done some digging and learned which two runners-up with the superfans will get a second chance to shine. Spoilers ahead
The “AGT” judges threw a lifeline to magician Joe Dorenbos and singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer. What do you think of these two choices? Be sure to vote in our poll below for the act you want to win season 1 of “AGT: The Champions” and then sound off on the show in our comments section.
Farmer, who won “America’s Got Talent” in 2017, placed second on the second episode for her performance of “Nutbush City Limits” and “Proud Mary” with her puppet Oscar. Rock opera singer Cristina Ramos won the superfan vote.
Dorenbos did an elaborate routine that involved the four judges, mind reading and a giant tic tac toe board. Opera singer Paul Potts won the superfan vote.
Besides those two acts that bested them with the superfans, Dorenbos and Farmer will face off against three other top vote-getters: singer Brian Justin Crum, stand-up Preacher Lawson and magician Shin Lim. And the five Golden Buzzer acts will return looking for even more glory: singers Susan Boyle, Angelica Hale and Kechi Okwuchi; daredevils Deadly Games; and sand artist Kseniya Simonova.
