“America’s Got Talent” has had lots of heartwarming stories this season but none may be more emotional than the one told by Verba Shadow in their audition. This talented troupe from the Ukraine uses shadow and light to tell the tale of a family torn apart by war. Watch their performance in the video above before it airs on the fifth and final audition episode of season 14 of “AGT” this Tuesday (June 25).
Verba Shadow are similar in style to Attraction, the Hungarian shadow theatre group that won “Britain’s Got Talent” back in 2013. That group of storytellers competed on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” earlier this year. But they had the misfortune of appearing on the same episode as magician Shin Lim who parlayed his popular vote victory with the superfans that week into taking the title in the finale.
Will Verba Shadow do them one better and win “America’s Got Talent” later this summer? First they have to make it to the live shows. One sure-fire way for that to happen is if they get the Golden Buzzer, which would send them straight through to the quarter-finals. Only one judge, Julianne Hough, has yet to find an act worthy of this special treatment. Will Verba Shadow inspire her to press the Golden Buzzer?
As this is the last audition episode, we know that she will at some point in the two-hour show. Her act will join these four Golden Buzzer acts: singer and pianist Kodi Lee (chosen by Gabrielle Union); rapper Joseph Allen (chosen by Howie Mandel); 11-year old violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa (chosen by Simon Cowell); and Detroit Youth Choir (chosen by Terry Crews).
