Ansley Burns may be gone, but she certainly won’t be forgotten. This 12-year-old singer from South Carolina made a huge impression on “America’s Got Talent” fans thanks to mean judge Simon Cowell stopping her mid-performance not once, but twice. Both times Simon stopped her because he didn’t like the backing track, then asked her to sing a capella on the spot. Despite judges Simon, Julianne Hough, Gabrielle Union, Howie Mandel and Ellie Kemper all raving about her last performance, Ansley was eliminated in the third Judge Cuts episode. Now a whopping 41% of people who voted in our recent poll claim that Ansley was “robbed” of a shot in the live shows.
Following Ansley’s performance of Carrie Underwood‘s “Good Girl,” Gabrielle proclaimed that she “blew it out of the water.” Guest judge Ellie noted that she “cannot believe the voice” that came out of Ansley at such a young age. Simon said that he thought there’s “something special” about Ansley, adding, “Our job is to see where you could go and where we could help you.”
Well, the door is still open for Simon and co. to “help” Ansley by giving her a coveted wild card spot in the upcoming live shows. As a reminder, last year three wild card acts were given the chance to return to “AGT” in the live shows after previously saying goodbye, so our fingers are crossed that the judges don’t forget about Ansley when it comes time for them to make their tough decisions.
