“America’s Got Talent” sweetheart Ansley Burns returned to NBC’s reality TV show as a wild card in the Quarterfinals 1 episode and all eyes were on whether mean judge Simon Cowell would stop her mid-performance for the third time in a row. Thankfully, the 13-year-old South Carolina singer was able to perform her rendition of LeAnn Rimes‘ “Swingin” from start to finish without any interruptions. It’s a miracle! However, Simon still did scold Ansley for her song choice — because what else is new? Will America vote Ansley through to the Semifinals? Watch the performance video above, read the judges’ comments below and make your predictions before Wednesday’s results show.
Simon Cowell: “Oh my God, Ansley. You got the whole country to hate me, but then we got you back. We all love you, really do. The thing about you Ansley is, I didn’t love the song, but I heard at the end once again that you are a great singer. You’ve got the most amazing personality. Thank God you agreed to come back. Please God the country put you into the next rounds because you are what this show is all about. You are a little fighter and I’m really happy to see you back here.”
Julianne Hough: “Never stop believing. All of those little moments will create the person and the artist that you will become. So just remember that. Don’t stop believing in yourself.”
Howie Mandel: “I’m so thrilled that you’re here. The last time I talked to you I made you cry. I love seeing you smile. You made us smile. You made America smile. You make the world smile.”
In his “AGT” live blog, our recapper John Benutty had this to say about the performance: “Ansley Burns was cut in the second round of the competition, but returned tonight as a wild card pick determined to perform so well from the state that Simon wouldn’t get to stop her mid-performance for a third time. As expected, she delivered the personality of a star and managed to exude the confidence we’ve seen from her in the past, even with the pressure of the live stage. Simon admitted that he didn’t love the song choice, but could still tell that she has a great voice and an amazing personality.”
