The final Veto competition of “Big Brother” Season 21 will air during the Wednesday, September 18 episode, and one houseguest doesn’t plan on letting his age play a factor. “Age is just a number,” proclaimed 54-year-old Cliff Hogg at the end of Sunday’s episode. “In order to guarantee that I’m going to the Final 3, I’ve got to win this Veto. Yeah, my birth certificate says I’m 54, but I’ve spent the last 80-something days in this house competing with a bunch of 20-year-olds who under-assumed what I could do. I will do what it takes to get all the way to the end.”
In the event that Cliff loses the Veto to comp beast Jackson Michie, the two men made a deal that they’d take each other to the Final 3. Nicole Anthony is already in the finals thanks to winning Head of Household. However, what Cliff doesn’t know is that Michie was lying through his teeth when making that deal — there’s no way he’d take Cliff over his showmance partner Holly Allen.
“My handshakes with Cliff and Nicole were unbreakable, up until they started to flip against us and then told us they were gonna keep Tommy Bracco,” Michie revealed after the nominations ceremony. “From that point forward, the only person I’m gonna be sitting next to on finale night is Holly. She’s the only one I can trust and I wanna walk out Mr. and Mrs. Smith with confetti on my shoulders.”
Holly threw the HOH comp to Nicole as part of a promise she made to survive last week’s eviction night. However, Holly now seems to be having second thoughts about that decision. “It’s frustrating having Nicole put me on the block because I handed her this HOH on a silver platter. You better believe that is the last time I hand you anything. Nicole and Cliff have already taken their gloves off, so I think it’s about time that I take mine off as well. I have no other choice than to win the Veto.”
As Nicole reminded viewers at the end of the hour, her nominations of Michie and Holly “really don’t matter this week” because the real power comes from the Veto holder. “Whoever wins it determines who’s gonna cast the sole vote to evict,” she said. So who will win the Veto during Wednesday’s episode, and will it be used to save Michie or Holly from the chopping block?
