Cali Wilson eliminated on ‘The Voice’: ‘Being mentored by you was a dream,’ she tells Blake Shelton [WATCH]

As Gold Derby predicted, Tuesday night’s episode of “The Voice” turned out to be the end of the road for Cali Wilson of Team Blake Shelton. This 28-year-old rocker from Salem, Iowa performed “The Chain” as her “save me” song (watch above), but the live Twitter voters chose to save Joana Martinez of Team Gwen Stefani instead. That resulted in the eliminations of Cali and Max Boyle of Team Kelly Clarkson, the other member of the bottom three. Will you miss Cali on “The Voice”? Sound off down in the comments section.

“Being mentored by you was a dream,” Cali told her country superstar coach just before host Carson Daly read the final results. “Your belief in me, you saved me last week. My confidence level has just went sky high because of you. You’re an incredible coach and I’m honored to be a part of your team.”

When it was Blake’s turn to respond, he proclaimed, “This business is so weird.” He later added, “I don’t know what’s gonna happen tonight. I don’t have a crystal ball, none of us do. And I don’t know what’s gonna happen moving forward. But that’s exactly why you’ve gotta keep doing this no matter what happens tonight. I believe in you. A lot of people believe in you. I promise you, you are doing what you’re born to do, and that’s make music. You’re incredible.”

Cali took on “Butterflies” on Monday night, which she dedicated to her loving girlfriend. After the performance Gwen named Cali as one of her favorite contestants in the entire competition, while Blake said he was proud his artist finally found her lane. Cali’s previous songs this season were “Dreams” (blind auditions), “Miss Me More” (battles), “Wicked Game” (knockouts) and “Toxic” (playoffs).

With Cali’s elimination, that means Blake only has two artists left on his team in the Top 11: Ricky Duran and Kat Hammock. Can either one of them go on to become the seventh winner for Team Blake on “The Voice”?
