Christina Applegate (‘Dead to Me’) 2019 Emmy Awards episode revealed for Best Comedy Actress (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Christina Applegate is entering the “Dead to Me” episode “I’ve Gotta Get Away” as her 2019 Emmy Awards submission for Best Comedy Actress. This program streamed May 3 and was the fifth episode of the first season for the Netflix show.

In this installment, Jen Harding (Applegate) decides to attend a grief retreat in Palm Springs in an effort to put her husband’s death behind her. New friend Judy Hale (Linda Cardellini) joins her so the duo can cut loose and she can help keep an eye on Jen.

Applegate is a past Emmy champ for her 2003 guest role on “Friends” and now has her fifth career nomination. For the 2019 contest, she is competing against Julia Louis-Dreyfus (who has won six previous times for “Veep”), past winners Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) and Catherine O’Hara (“Schitt’s Creek”), plus previous nominees Natasha Lyonne (“Russian Doll”) and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”).
