Comedian Preacher Lawson: ‘I don’t feel like I lost at all’ after nabbing 5th place on ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions’

Even though stand-up comedian Preacher Lawson nabbed fifth place on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions,” he remained hopeful till the end, telling host Terry Crews, “I don’t feel like I lost at all.” During Monday’s season finale Preacher was named as one of the Top 5 acts along with opera/rock singer Cristina Ramos (fourth place), sand artist Kseniya Simonova (third place), singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer (runner-up) and card magician Shin Lim (champion). Are you mad that the Superfan voters didn’t pick Preacher as their winner? Sound off down in the comments section.

“AGT” judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel gave Preacher a standing ovation before he left the stage, having supported him throughout his entire journey that started back on Season 12. Preacher continued, “It’s been the world to me. Y’all changed my life. Being up here with all these people? I appreciate you all.”

Mel B had some emotional parting words for Preacher, declaring, “I have loved you from the [first] moment I’ve seen you. You are so funny with so much charisma. You are memorable. I am gonna come and see you on stage because you make me laugh. You bring joy to everyone and everything. You’re brilliant. You are a winner and I love you.”

Preacher performed twice on “AGT: The Champions,” with his initial stand-up routine focused around dating a white girl and being a vegan. “I know what some of y’all are thinking. A black vegan? He must be married to a white girl. Psych — we broke up,” he joked during his first appearance.

Then last week during the Finals performance show Preacher nearly got naked for votes after making jokes about going to the gym. “Even if they didn’t laugh I would have ripped off my clothes,” Preacher bragged to Terry. Even though Heidi and Mel B were impressed by Preacher’s naked torso, it wasn’t enough to win the show.
