For the first night of Creative Arts Emmy Awards coverage on Saturday, September 14, Gold Derby was backstage in the press room as the winners answered journalists’ tough questions. The ceremony took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, where 48 awards were handed out over two and a half hours. Almost all categories at Saturday’s ceremony were for mostly unscripted programming — i.e. variety, reality, nonfiction and documentary. The imminent Sunday, September 15 ceremony will celebrate scripted content such as dramas, comedies, limited series and TV movies.
