Critics’ Choice Awards 2019: Tom O’Neil (Gold Derby) tops all experts predicting TV winners

Congratulations to our own Gold Derby founder Tom O’Neil for a near perfect score of 94.12% when predicting the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards TV winners on Sunday. He is leading our eight Experts, journalists who cover the entertainment industry throughout the year. See Experts’ scores.

Over 1,000 people worldwide predicted these television champs winners for the 17 categories chosen by the Broadcast Film Critics Association. The ceremony was live in Santa Monica and was hosted by Taye Diggs on CW.

There weren’t any long shot winners at the Sunday event, with every frontrunner or second place contender winning. O’Neil’s only miss was picking Yvonne Strahovski for Best Drama Supporting Actress over Thandie Newton. He got all of the program categories won by “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “The Americans,” “The Assassination of Gianni Versace” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.”
