Ally Brooke has been doing great on “Dancing with the Stars” — well, except for that time she was in the bottom two in Week 6. And that brush with “Dancing” death has the singer feeling a wee bit worried.
“Now I am [scared]. Especially because I was in the bottom two a few weeks ago. So I feel like even if I do really well in my dancing, I still feel nervous because it’s not just about the dancing,” Brooke told “Us Weekly.”
Brooke and her partner, Sasha Farber, landed in the bottom two alongside Sailor Brinkley-Cook and Val Chmerkovksiy, arguably the most shocking bottom two of the season so far as both women had been some of the best dancers this season, and Brinkley-Cook, whom the judges eliminated 2-0 over Brooke, even earned the highest score that night. Meanwhile, Sean Spicer, the weakest dancer left, has yet to hit the bottom two. He escaped again last week, while Kate Flannery and Karamo were the unlucky bottom-dwellers, with the latter getting axed.
“You just really can’t predict what’s going to happen. I think it definitely is shocking,” Brooke said of the recent results. “It has been shocking and all you can do is just literally — just if I know that I did the best dance that I could and worked as hard as I could, and that’s all that I can take away from it and then hope that America loves it. I think the more and more I show [them] who I am, I hope that it helps.”
The former Fifth Harmony member takes solace in the fact that she avoided the bottom two last week, feeling it’s a sign that fans were motivated to vote for her after her scare. “I feel like the good thing is, I was in the bottom two a few weeks ago, but this week I was not. So I really feel like that was a jolt for everyone to continue to vote,” she said. “And I’m so happy that I’m on the show another week.”
