Hannah Brown may have dethroned James Van Der Beek (again) from the top spot in our “Dancing with the Stars” predictions, but one of their competitors believes the “Dawson’s Creek” star is still the one to beat.
“It’s so tough because everybody’s killing it and rising [and] I love all of them too, but I would say James is so amazing — and his technicality. He is totally one to watch for sure,” Ally Brooke told “Entertainment Tonight” (watch above). “They’re all amazing, so I don’t want to [pick one].”
Before the season started, Van Der Beek was pegged as the biggest competition by three contestants, Brooke, Brown and Kel Mitchell. And he’s done little to prove them wrong, garnering the highest score the first week and putting in great performances since.
“I also love him so much. He’s kind of like … a father figure to me on the show because he’s so encouraging to me and supportive,” Brooke added. “Literally, when I’m walking down the stairs, he’s always there to hold my hand. … He’s just literally perfect, but he’s incredible, so I’m like, ‘I’m watching you, James!'”
But the actor is hardly the only good dancer in the cast as six different couples have topped the leaderboard through four weeks, including a four-way tie this week between Brooke, Brown, Mitchell and Lauren Alaina. Brooke expects the fierce jockeying to continue the rest of the season. “I’ll be in the star lounge, where we all watch, and I’m watching everyone like, ‘Man, everyone’s amazing,'” she said. “That’s the awesome thing about this season, is that you don’t know who’s gonna take it. It’s tough competition.”
