Everyone’s favorite game show is back! Host Howie Mandel is once again joined by 26 models for CNBC’s continuation of the dream-making series. In each episode a contestant claims a case, which holds anywhere from one penny to one million dollars, and is then given options to sell their case (“Deal”) or to keep opening more cases until only theirs remains (“No Deal”). Get a closer look at all 26 “Deal or No Deal” models for the current season by clicking through our photo gallery above. Ladies, please!
“Deal or No Deal” originally aired on NBC from 2005 to 2009, handing out tens of millions of dollars to deserving contestants over the years. Despite the huge cast of 26 ladies, a whopping 23 of them are brand new to CNBC’s iteration of the show, what Mandel refers to as “Deal or No Deal 2.0.” Two models have been with the program since its first season in 2005: Megan Abrigo (case #6) and Patricia Kara (case #8). The third is Amanza Smith (case #20), who joined up with the show during its final season on NBC.
Fans of reality TV recognize that case #4 is held by Brenda Lowe, who starred on “Survivor: Nicaragua” and “Survivor: Caramoan.” She came in 10th place in Nicaragua but made such a mark on the franchise that she was asked back for “Fans vs. Favorites” in Caramoan, where she placed sixth. Brenda won individual immunity once each season and made it to the jury both times, voting for Chase Rice to win Season 21 and John Cochran to win Season 26. See the “Survivor” winners list.
Mandel received an Emmy nomination for hosting “Deal or No Deal” in 2008, the very first year that the Best Reality Host category was created. The TV academy tapped all of that year’s nominees to host the Emmy ceremony: Mandel, Tom Bergeron, Heidi Klum, Jeff Probst and Ryan Seacrest. Besides hosting “Deal or No Deal,” which airs Wednesdays on CNBC, Mandel can also be seen as a judge on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”
