Wow! Domenic Haynes makes ‘The Voice’ history as Adam Levine’s ‘favorite singer in all 16 seasons’ [WATCH]

“I think you might be my favorite singer in all 16 seasons of this show,” Adam Levine told Domenic Haynes during Tuesday’s second episode of “The Voice” Season 16. That’s high praise indeed from Adam, who’s desperately seeking a victory since the last time he won was way back in Season 9 with Jordan Smith. Do you agree with Adam that the 18-year-old Florida resident is the best singer in the history of “The Voice”? Watch Domenic’s blind audition video above.

Adam was so impressed with Domenic’s performance of Leon Bridges‘s “River” that he pressed his “Block” button within seconds to prevent John Legend from being his coach. When John turned his chair around, he was so busy jamming out to Domenic’s voice that it took him a while to notice he was indeed blocked. The other veteran judges, Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson, noticed right away and cracked up watching John’s reaction.

“I hate all of you!” John screamed at his fellow coaches, as this was the third time he’d been blocked so far this season. John then told Domenic, “You’re my favorite singer I’ve heard. Your tone is so interesting and beautiful. You made such excellent choices with every note you sang. It had so much subtlety and nuance and the fact that you’re 18, I was like amazed. So impressed with what you did. Congratulations.”

Adam claimed that “it hurt” him to block John, but explained to Domenic that it was “a testament to you.” The Maroon 5 singer joked, “I don’t have the word Legend in my name, it’s Levine. It’s not as cool, man. There’s a raw soul that is missing right now from music and when you get that feeling as one of us, your hand is drawn to that [button].” Blake also turned his chair, proclaiming that “every muscle” in Domenic’s body helps to create his unique voice.

Despite coaching all 16 seasons of NBC’s reality TV show, Adam has only won three championships: Jordan in Season 9, Tessanne Chin in Season 5 and Javier Colon in Season 1. To compare, rival coach Blake has won a record six seasons so far, with two back-to-back victories for Kelly; new coach John is hoping to prevail on his very first try. Might Domenic end up being Adam’s fourth winner?
