“Fear the Walking Dead” fans, mark your calendars for Sunday, June 2 as that’s the day Season 5 will premiere on AMC. While the zombie apocalypse spinoff has gone through many cast changes over the years, its current ensemble, led by Lennie James as Morgan Jones, all come together in a fun new teaser video that channels “The Avengers.” In the official promo (watch above), the camera circles around all of main characters as they ready for war against the dead, with Morgan ultimately declaring, “If it’s dead, shoot it.”
Joining James in the instant classic “Heroes United” teaser video are Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia Clark, Colman Domingo as Victor Strand, Danay Garcia as Luciana Galvez, Garret Dillahunt as John Dorie, Maggie Grace as Althea, Jenna Elfman as June and Alexa Nisenson as Charlie. Additional Season 5 cast members Austin Amelio, Ruben Blades and Karen David do not appear.
Last season, “Fear the Walking Dead” ended with our wayward group of travelers opting not to visit Alexandria, Virginia, where Morgan had lived for years, and instead continue the work of helping people in Texas. The survivors will soon be visited by another “The Walking Dead” alum in the form of Amelio’s Dwight, who hasn’t been seen in the universe since his final appearance on the parent show’s 2018 finale. Will Dwight be a friend or a foe to our group of zombie-fighters? Time will tell.

In “Fear the Walking Dead” Season 5, the group’s mission is clear: locate survivors and help make what’s left of the world a slightly better place. With dogged determination, Morgan Jones (Lennie James) leads the group with a philosophy rooted in benevolence, community and hope. Each character believes that helping others will allow them to make up for the wrongs of their pasts. But trust won’t be easily earned. Their mission of helping others will be put to the ultimate test when our group finds themselves in unchartered territory, one which will force them to face not just their pasts but also their fears. It is only through facing those fears that the group will discover an entirely new way to live, one that will leave them forever changed.
