‘Friends’ reunion at Golden Globes? Green sisters Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Christina Applegate may be nominated

Will the “Friends” cast ever get back together? Well, a few of them might at the Golden Globes at least. Specifically, the erstwhile Green siblings are all in the hunt for nominations: Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Jill (Reese Witherspoon) and Amy (Christina Applegate) are all in the hunt.

Aniston and Witherspoon could even be nominated for the same show. They star in and executive produce “The Morning Show,” one of the programs that launched the Apple TV+ streaming service. They’re both in the running for Best TV Drama Actress, where Olivia Colman (“The Crown”) is the current favorite according to the combined predictions of more than 1,500 Gold Derby users. But Aniston is in the thick of it, ranked third with 9/2 odds.

Witherspoon actually has two chances for a nomination in this category. In addition to her role in “The Morning Show,” she also reprised her role in HBO’s limited series-turned-drama series “Big Little Lies,” for which she was nominated at the Globes in 2018. Both performances rank among our top 10 likeliest contenders in the category, with her “Big Little Lies” role receiving 56/1 odds and “The Morning Show” down but not out with 100/1 odds.

Meanwhile, Applegate could follow her Emmy nomination for Netflix‘s “Dead to Me” with a Globe bid for Best TV Comedy/Musical Actress. It would be her fourth nomination in that category following bids for “Jesse” (1999) and “Samantha Who?” (2008-2009).

All three Greens have been nominated at the Globes before, but Applegate is the only one still waiting for her first win from the Hollywood Foreign Press. Aniston won Best TV Comedy/Musical Actress for “Friends” back in 2003, while Witherspoon claimed Best Film Comedy/Musical Actress for “Walk the Line” in 2006, not to mention her 2018 win for “Big Little Lies” as a producer when it won Best TV Movie/Limited Series.

How many of the Greens do you think will be nominated for Golden Globes?
