Giancarlo Esposito (‘Better Call Saul’) 2019 Emmy Awards episode revealed for Best Drama Supporting Actor (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Giancarlo Esposito is entering the “Better Call Saul” episode “Pinata” as his 2019 Emmy Awards submission for Best Drama Supporting Actor. This program aired September 10 and was the sixth episode of the fourth season for the AMC show.

In this installment, Werner’s crew begins construction on the meth superlab for Gus (Esposito). Gus visits an unconscious Hector (Mark Margolis) in the hospital and tells him the story about trapping a coati that ate the fruit off of Gus’ lucuma tree. Rather than killing the injured animal humanely, he let it suffer until it died.

It’s the second career nomination following another for “Breaking Bad” in 2012. For this year’s contest, he is competing against three-time champ Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”), past nominees Jonathan Banks (“Better Call Saul”), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (“Game of Thrones”) and Michael Kelly (“House of Cards”), plus rookie contenders Alfie Allen (“Game of Thrones”) and Chris Sullivan (“This Is Us”).
