“The Masked Singer” judges (Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger) can’t seem to agree on who’s hiding behind the Fox costume on the network’s wild and wacky reality TV show. Is it Jamie Foxx, Wayne Brady or someone else entirely? Below, we take a look at the panelists’ picks in anticipation of the two-hour finale of “The Masked Singer” on Wednesday, December 18. Be sure to give us YOUR final guess for Fox down in our poll, and then defend your choice in the comments section.
After Fox performed Donny Hathaway‘s “This Christmas” during the holiday semi-finals, Jenny proclaimed, “I’ve been a fan of your since the beginning. I’m just moved by your voice, your stage presence. You talked about being a superhero in many of the clips … I think you might actually be one. I’m definitely gonna see you in the finals, Mr. Fox. You slayed like Rudolph.”
Fox brought out a holiday gift for the panelists: a photograph of Rabbit (Joey Fatone) from last season. He teased, “My buddy Rabbit came by the foxhole and told me I would have just as great a time as he did, and boy was he right.” Does that suggest the person inside the Fox costume is a real-life friend of Fatone’s, or maybe a fellow boy band singer?
Nicole picked up on the “foxhole” clue, reminding people that’s the name of Jamie’s radio show. Ken chimed in, “I’ve been saying Jamie Foxx all along … but I have better logic,” referencing the palm trees from the video package as being indicative of his role on “Miami Vice.” Robin wasn’t so convinced, saying he didn’t hear “Jamie’s voice” in Fox’s performance: “I’ve been just focusing in on the vocal tone, the stage presence and somebody who’s a multi-dimensional performer, and I think it’s Wayne Brady.” Jenny agreed, saying Robin made a “great guess.”
Last week we said goodbye to three costumed characters across two nights: Tree (Ana Gasteyer), Thingamajig (Victor Oladipo) and Leopard (Seal). That resulted in Fox, Flamingo and Rottweiler advancing to the Season 2 finale, where they’ll compete to win the coveted Golden Mask.
