Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Jason Bateman is entering the “Ozark” episode “Reparations” as his 2019 Emmy Awards submission for Best Drama Actor. This program streamed August 31 and was the debut episode of the second season for the Netflix show.
In this finale, Marty (Bateman) and the Snells meet with an attorney to discuss the casino. He discusses the project with a state senator, who encourages him to visit a major political donor about the legislation. The death of Ash serves as reparations, keeping the casino project alive.
Bateman has three nominations this year for producing, directing and acting plus four Emmy bids prior to 2019. For this year’s acting contest, he is competing against previous winner Sterling K. Brown (“This Is Us”), returning nominees Kit Harington (“Game of Thrones”) and Milo Ventimiglia (“This Is Us”), past writing winner Bob Odenkirk (“Better Call Saul”) and first-time nominee Billy Porter (“Pose”).
