Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Julia Garner is entering the episode “The Gold Coast” from “Ozark” as her 2019 Emmy Awards submission for Best Drama Supporting Actress. This program streamed August 31 and was the tenth and final episode of the second season for the Netflix show.
In this installment, Marty (Jason Bateman) shows Ruth (Garner) details of his cartel business before his family fleas. Cade tries blackmailing Ruth for money. Ruth doesn’t care about what will happen and tells Wyatt anyway and he angrily drives away.
This is the first career Emmy nomination for Garner. For the 2019 contest, she is competing against rookie contender Fiona Shaw (“Killing Eve”) and four actresses from “Game of Thrones” — Gwendoline Christie, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams. Headey and Williams have contended before.
