Katie Kadan of Team John Legend returned to “The Voice” stage during Monday’s Top 13 show and performed “I’m Going Down” for America’s votes. As this was dedication week, Katie chose to dedicate the song to all of her “single ladies” back home in Chicago who helped her overcome a broken heart. “I’m single and ready to mingle,” Katie joked about her current dating status. “That was the best performance we’ve seen this season by far,” John easily proclaimed about Katie’s powerful rendition of the Mary J. Blige classic. “We have some amazingly good singers that sang before you today, but we haven’t seen anything better than that this season. That was incredible, Katie.”
Kelly Clarkson revealed her “mic pack went down, all the way down my body” after rocking out to Katie’s song so hard. That’s when Katie declared, “I want to be best friends. Don’t think I forgot about that.”
Will Katie become the second consecutive “Voice” champion for Team John Legend? Just last season when John was a brand new coach, he prevailed thanks to pop/soul singer Maelyn Jarmon (see the winners list).

Katie is alone on stage when that big voice quickly takes over the crowd. Katie just oozes soul and she’s easily one of my favorites this season. She’s got such a fun personality but the voice to match! Her stage presence is unparalleled by any of her competitors and Katie just nailed another performance. Yet another standing ovation from the coaches! Kelly calls her ‘straight up fire’ and John says it was the best performance of the season.”
