In our recent poll that asked “The Voice” fans to name which Team John Legend artist they hope wins “The Voice” Season 17, Katie Kadan came out on top with 42% support. This 38-year-old artist from Chicago, Illinois wowed audiences with her live rendition of “Always Remember Us This Way” during Monday’s live playoffs, so it’ll be a surprise if she doesn’t make next week’s Top 13.
Rounding out Team John, Marybeth Byrd came in second place in our poll results with 22%, followed by Will Breman at 19%, Alex Guthrie at 10% and Khalea Lynee at 7%. Do you agree with “The Voice” viewers that Katie deserves to join the winners list? Sound off down in the comments section.

“Oh, Katie, you have so much soul in your voice and just everything about you just oozes so much emotion and power,” John told his four-chair turn artist after her live performance. “I think everyone hasn’t gotten to see you in those tender moments yet and just the tender moments that you sang tonight were so wonderful. We knew you had the power. We knew you had the fire. But those tender moments were so beautiful tonight. It was such a stunning performance. Beautiful, beautiful work.”
In his “The Voice” live blog, our recapper Denton Davidson had this to say about the performance: “Closing out the show with ‘Always Remember Us This Way’ is the Chicago powerhouse, Katie Kadan. She just looks like a star I love her look and her husky, stank vocals. SAAANG! Tonight she’s just sitting at the keyboard while she absolutely slays the vocals. They definitely saved the best two performances for the end. Wow! Katie killed that. And that’s a wrap for tonight. Tomorrow we’ll find out which 13 advance.”
John now hopes Katie can become his second champion following Maelyn Jarmon in Season 16. “From the moment I heard Katie in the blinds I felt like she’s one of the best performers in this competition,” John said about Katie. “She’s just so powerful and one of the most distinct performers that we have.”
Katie’s song list so far on “The Voice” has included “Baby I Love You” in the blind auditions, “Tiny Dancer” in the battles, “Piece of My Heart” in the knockouts and “Always Remember Us This Way” in the playoffs.
