Kelly Clarkson’s final ‘The Voice’ battle of Hello Sunday vs. Lauren Hall ends in shocking steal from Blake Shelton [WATCH]

And just like that, the battle rounds of “The Voice” Season 17 are a thing of the past. The final battle chronicled during Monday’s episode was the duo of  Myla Finks & Chelsea Grover (aka Hello Sunday) vs. Lauren Hall. The girls all took on “Wrecking Ball” and had their coach Kelly Clarkson struggling to make a decision. In the end, after an agonizing commercial break, Kelly announced Hello Sunday was the winner of the battle. But hold on, Lauren’s journey wasn’t over quite yet as Blake Shelton swooped in to steal her for his team. Watch “The Voice” battle video above.

Kelly noted that Hello Sunday was one of the “younger” acts in the competition, referring to their 13-14 age range. Because of that, the duo wasn’t as “technically on as [Lauren] the whole time.” However, she added the girls were still “impressive” at their age. Kelly then told Lauren, “I feel like we’re really similar. I know you and I know that voice.”

“All three of you would be a dream to work with,” Kelly continued. “Y’all, my team just has been so stacked. I’ve never been this fearful of losing someone that comes back to beat me.” Finally, she put everyone’s minds at ease by declaring, “The winner of this battle is Hello Sunday.”

As Lauren was thanking Kelly for mentoring her on the reality TV show, Blake surprised everyone by slamming his hand down on his “steal” button. “I can’t tell you how much it means to me to have you steal me,” a weepy Lauren told her brand new coach. “I have been going for this for so long and I really appreciate you giving me a second chance.”

In his “The Voice” live blog, our recapper Kevin Jacobsen had this to say about the battle: “The battle begins with Hello Sunday’s silky harmonies before Lauren takes centerstage. Hello Sunday tackle the first chorus while Lauren gets the second. Myla and Chelsea have moments near the end of highlighting their individual voices. Blake has no idea how to ‘chop this up’ into individual critiques and says they’re all winners. John loves Lauren’s alto rasp and says Hello Sunday’s energy is strong. Gwen is just as torn as the others. Kelly says all three of the singers would be a dream to work with but decides to go with … Hello Sunday!”
