Lady Gaga is expected to win four Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 10), including her first in the prestigious general field. She is predicted to take home both Record and Song of the Year Grammys for “Shallow,” the love ballad she sings with Bradley Cooper in their hit film “A Star is Born.”
The budding actress had a decision to make as to where to go on Sunday as she is also nominated at the British Academy Awards. She opted to skip that ceremony in London to attend the Grammys in Los Angeles. She must have taken a look at our racetrack odds for both events. While we have her out front to win those four Grammys, she is at the back of the pack in the Best Actress race at the BAFTAs.
Cooper, who is nominated alongside Gaga for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, will be representing the film at the BAFTA Awards. His movie contends in seven categories, with Cooper a nominee in five of those for directing, acting, writing, producing and music. However, as with his leading lady, we are predicting he will lose all of those races. Indeed, “A Star is Born” is likely to be shut out of the BAFTAs despite reaping a seemingly lucky seven nominations.
The BAFTAs do not give out an award for Best Original Song but the Oscars do. And Lady Gaga is all but certain to claim that award for “Shallow.” While Cooper will not share in that win as he did not write the song, he is set to perform the tune with Lady Gaga on the Oscars, which air live on ABC on February 24.
