All week long “The Voice” fans have been making their Gold Derby predictions for who they think will win Season 16 and who’ll advance to the next round, and things seem to be looking up for LB Crew of Team Adam Levine. Following his fan-chosen performance of Boyz II Men‘s “I’ll Make Love to You” during Monday’s Top 13 episode, this 29-year-old from Little Rock, Arkansas now has 8/15 odds of being one of the eight artists to advance to next week. Do you agree or disagree with our readers’ racetrack odds? There’s still time to make or update your picks before Tuesday’s results show.
“First of all, I was so thrilled to just suddenly have you back in my life,” Adam told the R&B artist who last week was voted back into the competition via the live Twitter save. The final vote had come down to LB vs. Kanard Thomas, with America casting its votes for LB.
“I think that you are a true talent,” Adam continued. “I’ll tell you something about this guy. This dude, he walks in the room and you just want him to be successful. You’re just such a kind, good human. I love feeling that from you every time we work together. I love you, man. You are an incredibly talented dude and I’m just happy you’re back.”
Team Adam was hit with a major blow in the Top 24 round after America failed to vote any of his four singers through to the next round. Adam chose to save Mari, while LB re-joined this team after proving victorious in the online companion series the Comeback Stage. Adam’s three eliminated singers last week were Betsy Ade, Domenic Haynes and Kalvin Jarvis.
In his “The Voice” live blog, our recapper John Benutty had this to say about the performance: “I have to admit that I was expecting LB to make this a showstopper, but he kept it pretty understated for the entire first half of the song. But, man, when he loosened up for the booming chorus it turned into something else entirely, even if a bit pitchy in the end. Adam was happy that he put his all into the performance.”
