MTV Movie and TV Awards winners 2019: Full list of winners and nominees in every category

The 2019 MTV Movie and TV Awards were presented on Monday night, June 17, during a ceremony held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, and hosted by Zachary Levi. So who were the big winners? Scroll down for the complete list, updating live as they’re announced.

MTV has been giving out their fan-voted Golden Popcorn trophies since 1992, when James Cameron‘s blockbuster “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” was awarded Best Movie. For more than two decades these kudos only considered achievements on the big screen, but in 2017 TV shows were added to the mix. Now there are separate categories for Best Movie, Best Performance in a Movie, Best Show and Best Performance in a Show, while other categories mix all achievements together.

The most nominated films this year were the superhero blockbuster “Avengers: Endgame” and the documentary “RBG” with four bids apiece. “Endgame” was up for Best Movie, where it hoped to be the third Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to win top honors, following “The Avengers” and “Black Panther.” It’s up against fellow blockbusters “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” and “Us,” the Oscar-winning “BlacKkKlansman” and the Netflix rom-com “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.”

Game of Thrones” also has four nominations this year, though it has yet to win any MTV Awards. For the last two years the HBO fantasy series lost to “Stranger Things,” but “Stranger Things” didn’t premiere any new episodes in the last year, so maybe that will give “Thrones” the opening it needs. It’s up against a pair of Netflix shows this time — “Big Mouth” and “The Haunting of Hill House” — plus cult favorites “Riverdale” and “Schitt’s Creek.”
