2019 MTV VMAs announce 3 more categories: Here’s how to vote for Best Group, Power Anthem, Song of Summer

The 2019 MTV Video Music Awards are just a week away on Monday night, August 26, but the awards have just announced three more categories fans can vote for as well as artists who will join the pre-show festivities. You can look forward to performances from Ava Max, CNCO and Megan Thee Stallion on the red carpet. And if you want to pick the winners for Best Group, Best Power Anthem and Song of Summer, listen up because you have a limited time.

Beginning August 19 and for 24 hours fans can vote for Best Group by swiping up on MTV’s Instagram Story. The nominees are as follows:

5 Seconds of Summer
Backstreet Boys
Jonas Brothers
Why Don’t We

Then on Tuesday, August 20, starting at Noon ET and lasting for 24 hours, fans can vote by swiping up on MTV’s Instagram Story for Best Power Anthem, whose nominees are:

Ariana Grande – “7 rings”
DJ Khaled, ft. Cardi B and 21 Savage – “Wish Wish”
Halsey – “Nightmare”
Lizzo ft. Missy Elliott – “Tempo”
Maren Morris – “GIRL”
Megan Thee Stallion ft. Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign — “Hot Girl Summer”
Miley Cyrus – “Mother’s Daughter”
Taylor Swift – “You Need To Calm Down”

Lastly, starting on Wednesday, August 21, at Noon ET and lasting until Sunday, August 25 at Noon ET, fans can vote for the Song of Summer in bracket-style voting. Those nominees are:

Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber – “I Don’t Care”
