Official American Music Awards predictions 2019: Who will win AMAs in all 29 categories?

It has been a busy month for the music industry: the American Music Awards will be presented on Sunday night, November 24, right on the heels of the CMA Awards and the Grammy nominations announcement. So who will take top honors when the AMAs are handed out? Scroll down for our official predictions in all 29 categories, listed in order of their racetrack odds with our projected winners highlighted in gold.

Our odds are based on the combined predictions of hundreds of Gold Derby users who have given us their forecasts here in our predictions center. That includes Gold Derby’s Editors who cover movie, music, TV and theater awards year-round, as well as the Top 24 Users who got the highest scores predicting last year’s AMAs. There’s still time for you to go their to make or edit your own picks before the awards are handed out.

Post Malone enters these awards as the top contender with a leading seven nominations, including Artist of the Year. He’s followed by Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish with six apiece. But having the most nominations doesn’t necessarily indicate a greater likelihood of winning here since these prizes are decided by music fans voting for their favorites online. So whether you have five nominations or 50, what matters is having the largest and most committed fan base.

Joining Malone and Grande in the race for Artist of the Year are Halsey, Drake and Taylor Swift, the last of whom is already a guaranteed winner at the event since she will receive the honorary Artist of the Decade Award for her achievements throughout the 2010s, which includes a record four previous Artist of the Year victories (2009, 2011, 2013, 2018). Swift also has the potential to set a new record as the most awarded artist in AMAs history with this year’s competitive nominations.
