If Emanne Beasha looked scared to audition for Simon Cowell during last week’s episode of “America’s Got Talent,” there was no way to tell. As this 10-year-old Florida opera singer reveals in her NBC interview (watch above), “Simon’s a serious judge, so I was a little bit scared to perform in front of him. I was so relieved when Simon said that he liked it.” Emanne’s performance of “Nessun Dorma” didn’t just earn a “yes” vote from cranky judge Simon, but also from Julianne Hough, Gabrielle Union and Howie Mandel, which meant she sailed through to the next round.
Following her performance Simon had raved from the panel, “I mean seriously, that was unbelievable. What an amazing person.” He then referenced Emanne’s father, who owns an ice cream shop. “Your dad’s got the best job in the world,” Simon declared. “It must be magic ice cream. And then you come along and just do that. You are absolutely fantastic.”
Emanne adds in the Q&A that it was really “crazy and exciting” to perform for all of America in the June 25 episode, especially coming from her hometown where “everything’s very chill.” She then mentioned how she hopes to “get ice cream” with Julianne soon after the new judge made that promise in her critique of Emanne’s “Nessun Dorma” rendition.
Speaking of that classic opera song, Emanne explains why she chose it for her “America’s Got Talent” audition, noting, “It’s a beautifully heartwarming song and I just really love it.” Song choice is key on NBC’s reality TV show, but she clearly struck a chord with “Nessun Dorma” as she earned a standing ovation from all four judges.
If Emanne ends up winning Season 14, that would make her the fourth talented girl to prevail following Bianca Ryan (Season 1), Grace VanderWaal (Season 11) and Darci Lynne Farmer (Season 12). Let us know down in the comments section if you think Emanne has what it takes to join this esteemed “AGT” winners list.
