Rachel Brosnahan (‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’) 2019 Emmy Awards episode revealed for Best Comedy Actress (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Rachel Brosnahan is entering “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” episode “Midnight at the Concord” as her 2019 Emmy Awards submission for Best Comedy Actress. This program streamed December 5 and was the fifth episode of the second season for the Amazon Prime show.

In this installment, Midge (Brosnahan) must return quickly to New York as a fill-in at the cosmetics counter. She starts dating Benjamin (Zachary Levi) and then goes to the Catskills for a comedy performance, discovering that her father Abe (Tony Shalhoub) is in the audience.

Brosnahan is the reigning champ for this category on her third overall nomination. For the 2019 contest, she is competing against Julia Louis-Dreyfus (who has won six previous times for “Veep”), past winners Christina Applegate (“Dead to Me”) and Catherine O’Hara (“Schitt’s Creek”), plus previous nominees Natasha Lyonne (“Russian Doll”) and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”).
