Robin Wright (‘House of Cards’) 2019 Emmy Awards episode revealed for Best Drama Actress (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Robin Wright is entering the “House of Cards” episode “Chapter 70” as her 2019 Emmy Awards submission for Best Drama Actress. This program streamed November 2 and was the fifth episode of the sixth season for the Netflix show.

In this installment, speculation is rampant that President Claire Underwood (Wright) might not be fit for office after she has not been seen in public for three weeks. She stops her cabinet from exercising the 25th Amendment, fires them all and replaces them with an all-female cabinet.

It’s the eighth career nomination for Wright without a win so far. For the 2019 contest, she is competing against past winners Viola Davis (“How to Get Away with Murder”) and Laura Linney (“Ozark”), previous nominees Emilia Clarke (“Game of Thrones”) and Sandra Oh (“Killing Eve”) and first-time contenders Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”) and Mandy Moore (“This Is Us”).
