In our recent poll that asked “The Voice” fans to name which Team Gwen Stefani artist they want to win Season 17, Rose Short came out on top with 35% support. This 34-year-old artist from Killeen, Texas wowed audiences with her live rendition of “What Have You Done for Me Lately” during Monday’s live playoffs, so it’ll be a jaw-dropper if she doesn’t make next week’s Top 13.
Rounding out Team Gwen, Joana Martinez came in second place in our poll results with 26%, followed by Jake HaldenVang at 20%, Myracle Holloway at 11% and Kyndal Inskeep at 8%. Do you agree with “The Voice” viewers that Rose deserves to join the winners list? Sound off down in the comments section.

“I am so proud of you,” Gwen told Rose following her live performance. “I’m so proud to know you, actually. I can’t believe you’re on my team. We talked about this [song choice]. This was risky. We didn’t know. From rehearsal to now is like a whole other planet, like I don’t even understand how you did that. It was so beautiful. You look so stunning. I am so honored.”
In his “The Voice” live blog, our recapper Denton Davidson had this to say about the performance: “It’s Team Gwen’s turn to sing live for the first time this season and up first is Rose Short with ‘What Have You Done for Me Lately.’ I’ve never seen her sing an uptempo but I’m loving her sexy spin on this! It’s definitely a new side to Rose and her stage presence is fierce. I’m not sure how most viewers will respond to this but I’m loving it! All the coaches are on their feet.”
This is Gwen’s fourth season as a coach, but she has yet to claim victory. Could Rose finally win the championship for her pop star coach? “Rose is a two-chair turn that turned into a major threat,” Gwen reminded the audience. “Everybody is scared of Rose. Rose is a kind of a magical person. She has a crazy, amazing voice. She has personality.”
Rose’s song list so far on “The Voice” has included “Preach” in the blind auditions, “Can’t Feel My Face” in the battles, “Big White Room” in the knockouts and “What Have You Done for Me Lately” in the playoffs.
