At the end of last week’s 12th episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” host RuPaul Charles tasked the viewers of VH1’s reality TV show to name who they wanted to win Season 11 on Twitter by using the hashtags #TeamAKeria (for A’Keria C. Davenport), #TeamBrookeLynn (for Brooke Lynn Hytes), #TeamSilky (for Silky Nutmeg Ganache) or #TeamYvie (for Yvie Oddly). Based on our recent poll, Yvie is far and away the fans’ favorite to take home the crown as she has leading 58% support.
Rounding out our poll results, Brooke Lynn has the next-highest level of viewer support at 35%, followed by A’Keria at 5% and Silky at 2%. Do you agree or disagree with “Drag Race” fans? Sound off down in the comments section.
“My Top 4 queens, condragulations, you are all one step closer to becoming America’s next drag superstar,” RuPaul told her four finalists after the elimination of Vanessa “Miss Vanjie” Mateo in the “Queens Everywhere” episode. The Emmy-winning host continued, “But the race isn’t over yet, so I want to hear from our superfans. Who do you think deserves the crown? Let your voices be heard.”
All of the Top 4 contestants have major victories to brag about heading into the season finale, which is scheduled for Thursday, May 30. Brooke Lynn leads the pack by claiming three main challenge victories, while A’Keria and Silky have won two apiece and Yvie has won a single challenge. On the flip side, both Brooke Lynn and A’Keria have had to lip sync for their lives twice, while Silky and Yvie have only done so once.
Heads up: instead of a regular episode this week, get ready for the annual “RuPaul’s Drag Race” reunion show where all of this season’s queens return to dish the dirt. Is anyone still holding a grudge from their time on the show? What is the current status of Miss Vanjie and Brooke Lynn’s showmance? And who’s in the running to be named Miss Congeniality for Season 11? Find out Thursday, May 23 on VH1.
Looking ahead to the May 30 season finale, Brooke Lynn leads Gold Derby’s predictions for who’s likeliest to win with leading 27/25 racetrack odds. That suggests there’s a slight disconnect between who fans THINK will win (Brooke Lynn) and who they WANT to win (Yvie). Speaking of Yvie, she’s right behind Brooke Lynn on our winner’s chart with 23/20 odds, followed by A’Keria with 30/1 odds and Silky with 48/1 odds.
