Tuesday night on “The Voice,” Kelly Clarkson‘s four-chair turn artist Shane Q was in danger of going home just prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. Shane and Myracle Holloway of Team Gwen Stefani found themselves in the bottom two and fighting for the live instant save, with Shane opting to sing “Jealous” (watch above). After the social media audience cast their votes, Kelly was ecstatic to see Shane advance into the Top 10. “Yas!” she shouted as she went up to hug Shane and console Myracle. Are you happy Shane is still on “The Voice”? Sound off down in the comments section.
“Kelly, I love you so much,” Shane said just before host Carson Daly announced the live results. “You’ve given me some great advice and I’ve grown as a person working with you, and all of you guys really. I’m just gonna keep applying all [the advice and feedback] and become a better version of myself. Music’s always gonna be there. I’m never gonna stop. I just want to thank you guys.”
Kelly was “super bummed” Shane and Myracle both ended up in the bottom two based on their performances from Monday night. “I just really don’t think you two specifically deserve to be in this spot,” she said before adding, “this is a show called ‘The Voice’ and you’re on key and you’re doing your best and you’re soulful and you’re nailing it.” Kelly let Shane and Myracle know that in this business, you can do your best and still not be successful because “it wasn’t your moment.”
On Monday’s performance show Shane took on “Mercy” by Shawn Mendes, a song chosen by his adoring fans. “I still find Shane hard to connect with and his lack of stage presence continues to be a burden,” wrote our “The Voice” recapper Denton Davidson about his performance. In the end, America agreed as Shane found himself in the bottom for the first time this season.
Gold Derby readers thought Shane was safe heading into Tuesday’s results show, as most predicted Joana Martinez of Team Gwen would be heading home instead. Joana survived the instant save last week, making her and Shane the only artists to do so. Does that now mean Shane and Joana are in danger of being eliminated in next week’s Top 10 episode?
