‘So You Think You Can Dance’ fans think Madison Jordan WILL win, but Bailey Munoz SHOULD win [POLL RESULTS]

So You Think You Can Dance” starts its live shows tonight, August 12, with the top 10 dancers competing for audience votes for the first time. But our readers are already telling us who they think will win the season and who they think should win. Scroll down for our odds and poll results.

As of this writing, contemporary specialist Madison Jordan is the front-runner to win the show with leading odds of 29/20 based on the combined predictions of Gold Derby users who have placed their bets here in our predictions center. She’s the most senior of this year’s top 10 contestants at the ripe old age of 21, and she got plenty of screentime during the pre-recorded shows thanks to her skill, stage presence, and inspirational backstory of coping with hair loss as the result of alopecia. Ranked second in our odds is fellow contemporary dancer Gino Cosculluela with 9/2 odds, while yet another contemporary dancer, Mariah Russell, is third with 11/2 odds.

But fans are actually rooting for the b-boy: Bailey Munoz led our poll of who should win the show with almost one-third of the vote (32%). He was followed by Cosculluela with 21% and tapper Eddie Hoyt with 12%. Contemporary specialist Benjamin Castro got 10% of the vote, which means our readers’ top four favorite dancers are all male. Perhaps that’s because we conducted our poll right after the judges picked the five male dancers who would advance to the live shows, so they were fresher in viewers’ minds. Or maybe it means the men have already made a stronger connection with the audience. That would be a reversal of last season, when the show’s ultimate top three were all women.

But a lot can change once the dancers finally get on that live stage. Do you agree with our readers’ picks for who will and should win the show?
