You won’t have to wait quite as long for your summertime fix of Cat Deeley-ness. Fox has just moved up the premiere of its popular reality competition show, “So You Think You Can Dance,” from June 10 to June 3. Not only that, there is a new promo video featuring several quite limber competitors to whet your appetite for what’s in store this year.
In addition , some new faces will join Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy at the judging table. Emmy-nominated Laurieann Gibson, Lady Gaga‘s longtime choreographer and creative director, who has major cred having created musical numbers for the likes of Michael Jackson, Missy Elliott, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Alicia Keys and Beyonce, will be offering critiques.
The second new judge is Emmy-winner and “So You Think You Can Dance” alum Dominic “D-Trix” Sandoval, who competed on the third season of the show and also was a winner as part of the Quest Crew on the third season of “America’s Best Dance Crew. Back in the day, he was known for having a major crush on host Deeley.
Last year’s champ was teen sensation Hannahlei Cabanilla, a contemporary dancer from Anaheim, California. She appeared in Fox’s “Rent: Live” earlier this year.
As always, the dance contest series will start with auditions of highly skilled dancers between the ages of 18 and 30 who, if chosen, will go on to compete in an array of styles including contemporary, tap, hip-hop, ballroom, animation, breaking with the hopes of getting America’s votes. Be sure to mark your calendars or otherwise you might just miss Murphy’s infamous Hot Tamale Train as it passes by.
