After only three episodes of “Survivor: Edge of Extinction,” the remaining 15 castaways are about to experience the twist of all twists on Wednesday night when their two tribes become three. “You don’t know what’s goin’ on,” teases host-with-the-most Jeff Probst in CBS’s preview trailer for Season 38, Episode 4, titled “I Need a Dance Partner.” Julie Rosenberg, currently a member of the yellow Kama camp, responds that the tribe swap “just immediately turns your whole game upside-down.” Watch the “Survivor” video clip above.
Elsewhere in the preview trailer, the three inhabitants of Extinction Island — Reem Daly, Keith Sowell and Chris Underwood — continue to complain about their accommodations. “All you can do is just sit there and just be angry,” Keith whines. Hmm, is Keith having second thoughts about making the journey to the Edge of Extinction instead of just leaving the game entirely?
As the newest Extinction Island member, Chris remarks that being there is akin to “voluntary torture.” However, it’s unclear if he’s talking about dealing with the physical aspects of survival like rain/cold/hunger or whether he’s referring to being stranded next to his new island roommates Reem and Keith. For her part, Reem jokes that the Edge of Extinction is nothing like being at “a Holiday Inn.”
The remainder of the 30-second video spot focuses on Wendy Diaz, this season’s love-her-or-hate-her castaway who last week injured her leg. Since Wendy is opposed to her tribe killing and eating the chickens that they won at the reward challenge, she stole their flint to prevent them from starting a fire. “She hid our flint! Who does that?” asks a visibly shaking Kelley Wentworth.
“I’m not even close to being done,” Wendy giggles to her buddy David Wright. What the cluck? If Wendy is about to do the unthinkable by letting the chickens go free on the island, then we cannot wait to see the reactions of her fellow tribe members. Find out how it all plays out when the fourth episode of “Survivor” airs Wednesday, March 13 at 8/7c.
