‘Survivor’ sneak peek video: David has no regrets about wasting hidden immunity idol — ‘It was the right move’ [WATCH]

Even though David Wright only received one vote at last week’s “craziest” tribal council ever, this “Survivor: Edge of Extinction” contestant has no regrets about playing his and Rick Devens‘ combined hidden immunity idol. “It was the right move given the just complete chaos that we were surrounded by,” he declares in the sneak peek video for Wednesday’s 10th episode (watch above). Instead, Julia Carter ended up being eliminated with nine votes cast against her, including those of some of her closest allies.

When the remaining 10 players return home to camp on Night 23, they express their amazement at what just transpired at tribal council with everyone scrambling around and huddling up. “Wow, that was some tribal,” notes David before telling his buddy Rick, “Thanks for the idol play.” The immunity idol had previously been split in two, with half in Rick’s possession and half in David’s, and it was finally combined together at tribal council.

“Going into tribal I felt like it’s gonna be me,” admits David in a confessional. “And then Aurora McCreary starts talking about the dysfunction of the Kama tribe and tribal just goes crazy. But you never know if stuff is just theater at tribal council, so Rick and I play the idol on me. I didn’t need it, so that’s a wasted idol, but who cares?”

How will Julia’s elimination change the plans of former Kama members Gavin Whitson and Victoria Baamonde, who previously had turned on Ron Clark and Julie Rosenberg and caused them to “jump ship”? Find out when the ominously titled episode, “Blood of a Blindside,” airs Wednesday on CBS.

Here’s a reminder of how all of the players voted in last week’s memorable tribal council:

*Julia voted for Kelley Wentworth

*Aurora voted for David

*David, Gavin, Julie, Kelley, Lauren O’Connell, Rick, Ron, Victoria and Dan “Wardog” DaSilva voted for Julia
